What specific types of memories do you enjoy making with your kids
Taking vacations has got to be one of our favorite memory making fun things to do. Even our older kids still today, talk of the trips we made and the fun we had.
Camping has got to be another way we enjoy making memories, especially when your tent leaks, your in the worse thunderstorm you've ever been in, the bears are in the garbage cans and the likes. Our younger kids love talking about the memories we've made while camping.
These are only two I can think of right now. I'll write more later.
How about you?

Camping/vacations for us too- although my kids now say they hated the vacations :O
Cooking- we cook together. I mentioned to my aunt that I was teaching my kids about the vent slits I put on the pie crust, and how each family does it differently- and how that's how you can tell which family's pies are whose. My aunt confessed that it had never occurred to her to tell her daughter those things! We cook family recipes and discuss the heritage there, we cook ethnic recipes and discuss various cultures, we cook what we like and enjoy the company.
Videos- we make a Christmas video every year for distant relatives and each set of grandparents. We do an Advent type activitiy with the kids and video it, we read scriptures, and pray, and sing carols on the tape. The kids still laugh at some of the antics we see later on tape (like singing "We 3 Kings" and all the boys are swaying to the music behind my back) or Jake cooking cookies and trying to get the camera person to KISS THE COOK.
Doing something totally out of the ordinary. My boys still talk about when they were very little- they went outside to play after a rainstorm. I followed a bit later and found them dripping wet and covered in mud, in the ditch. They looked up and expected to get in trouble- instead, I commented on how wonderful ditches full of water are- and jumped in- shoes, clothes and all. I thought they would drown me before I could get out, but we had a wonderful time and they were so not expecting it.

We've always had a huge emphasis on fun at our house. It was always my goal to make our home a haven of love and laughter. We always did silly things like cranking the stereo up and mimmicking Cher, singing Just Like Jesse James..... . We took several vacations and we worked really hard to fill them with great memories. Most important in the memory dept. for me was to make sure that our children felt loved and safe and completely accepted at home, above all else. (don't think we didn't discipline though, b/c we did!)
We always laugh a lot, even today when we're all together.
