what's your favourite compliment?

I was paid a wonderful compliment last night and it started me thinking about others I'd received over the years.

What's the best compliment you've ever received and who was it from?

Mine was when both my sons were at school, in their final year magazine they had to list the people who they most admired and who were they influenced by etc. Most kids in their class said a sporting hero or a singer but both my kids said: "my parents, they are the people I look up to and I want to be like." DH and I were both blown away.

So what's your favourite compliment?

Awww what a wonderful compliment

Mine is when my fil tells me that the reason my children are so happy and well-behaved is my doing

Mine is when I am told I love and take better care of my animals than a lot of people do thier children.

My favorite (and most recieved) is "I love your cooking!" the next would be, "you think of everything!".

Mine is when my DH tells me that I am the most wonderful wife in the world. He is pretty wonderful himself too

I have a few... "you are a good nurse" (got that one last night at work), "you have lost weight!" and that I am "the most caring person I've ever met".

And it never hurts to hear "you are a great cook".

When I was young, it was "What well behaved Children you have"

Now I am OLD...it has to be "Mom that was a great meal"

I have come to the conclusion that no-one is ever going to say...Are You Ready???... "You Are so Georgeous!!!!!!" lol

Guess I'd better keep cooking.

What a great compliment Bethany!

I love hearing about what well-behaved children we have....although just this past weekend, our Priest told GW that it's "obvious that the children don't just receive their spiritual training at church" WOW that one blew us away!!

I never hear the good cook one......

When my son was just a toddler, my mom paid me a lovely compliment by saying "Chris is just like you, he smiles with his eyes." I thought that was lovely!
My husband is always complimenting me in one way or another which is wonderful.

Mine would have to be when my dh compliments me to his mother... My mil was not necessarily thrilled about dh and I getting together (that's changed now), so I just love it when he talks to her about my cooking and cleaning!
