It went wonderfully.
We went to our sunday class as normal, and at 10 am all who were being baptised were taken to the choir room for a quick run-down of the way it was being done (who would be first, the last minute things, etc). We were told ahead of time to bring a towel, and a change of clothes. Which I brought in my Walmart bag. We were asked to pass our towels to the helpers who would in turn pass us our towels as we each came out of the baptismal tank. No Problem, right? Sure. I reach my towel and pull it out, it is stuck, must be stuck on something in the bag, better pull harder. So I do...and out comes my towel...and my bra flings out of my bag and sails across the choir room.
to the foot of one of the youth pastors. Sigh. but that was the worst of it. I read the thread I posted in the other forum. I read it in front of the whole congregation...helped that i couldn't see anything...spotlight was in my eyes. So I couldn't see anyone else. Pastor dips me under the water, and I come up...a flash of blinding light hits me in the eyes and renders me unable to see...holy intervention? Second comming? Nope, the church photographer with a really strong flash bulb. So I go change and put my wet cothes in the car and join my dh in the sermon, I find him at the very front of the church, in the front pew, with ds. they both had a front row view. It was really a great experience and one that I treasure, and will forever. I feel some how different, happy, relaxed, just wonderful. Dh was crying when I got to him. He made me cry. The people of my small group were all there today, and it was simply wonderful.
