I feel your pain, Kat. Our first apt. was right in front of the RR tracks. It took a bit, but we got used to the sound

Hope you get some sleep soon!

I have trouble with this every time I go up to visit Dh's folks. Its funny, after a few days I get used to the noise and when we come home I can't sleep because its to quiet!
Hope you and Joe get used to the noise soon and get some rest.

When I was a little girl I would visit my grandparents who had neighbors who lived {Literally} next door to RR tracks and they have lived there for probably a good 50+ years. Everytime the train would come buy my grandpa or grandma would take me to see the train & when I was pregnant with my oldest DD we had RR tracks across the yard from us & now it's up the street from me plus I live off a very busy road so I'm used to it infact I'll take trains whistling through over noisy people anytime
