Still in Vancouver but very good news!
Very brief check in on fil's computer.
I saw the specialist today. (Endocrinologist) He is putting me on thyroid hormones, and it will stop the bleeding into the cysts inside my thyroid which has been going on causing the irritation. Bleeding due to auto immune stuff.
I'm getting an increased dose of estrogen as he thinks I'm one of the kind that does better with more of it, and it may also help reduce the migraines AND improve the energy. He figures my exhaustion may be less the thyroid and more estrogen lack and date back to perimenopause.
He is trying me on a little tiny bit of testosterone gel to help the energy as well.
He also wants to try some antidepressant medication if that above doesn't significantly improve my energy level. Says that serotonin levels need rebalancing in a lot of cases of chronic fatigue. I'm already a fairly cheery person so I"m kinda hoping we don't need to go that far or I'll be bouncing off the walls.
AND I"m getting my cholesterol checked, plus getting checked for diabetes.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I"M GETTING MIGRAINE PILLS!!!! Imitrex or the like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEE HAW CAMPERS!!!!!!!!!!
NO MORE "oh you'll just have to live with that"
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DOING A HAPPPY DANCE HERE FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful news Margery! I'm so happy the specialist is taking your symptoms seriously and doing something about them. Hope your new mediations work well and you can get back to your "old self" energy wise.

Oh Margery I am so glad that things are going well for you.
As for the migraines, I get them to and I have taken the Imitrex shot. It was amazing how fast it started to kick in. I don't know much about the pills as I never got the perscription for them filled, but I remember being told that in order for the pills to work you had to take them as soon as you knew it was a migraine, but the shots you could take during the headache. I hope they work for you.
We will see you when you get back.
