    Default Grandmother and greatgrandparent poems

    Grandmother

    What could be more precious
    than Grandma's special love?
    She always seems to know the things
    That we are fondest of.
    She's always ready with a smile
    Or a loving word of praise,
    Her laughter always brightens up
    The cloudiest of days...
    She has an understanding heart
    that encourages and cheers.
    The love she gives so freely
    Grows deeper with the years.
    Her wisdom and devotion
    are blessings from above-
    Nothing could be more precious
    than Grandma's special love.

    A Grandmother

    She rocks another baby...
    hums an age old lullaby
    She hopes no one is watching
    as with thanks, she starts to cry

    Remembering the time
    when the babies were her own
    And her mother told her gently
    too soon they would be grown

    Lots of bedtime stories,
    skinned knees, and tears to dry
    Teddy bears, toy trucks and dolls
    and kites up in the sky

    First days of school,
    the proms, the wedding days
    Sand castles and snowball fights
    and teaching them to pray

    Now, as she holds her grandchild
    and gives thanks unto the Lord
    She knows to be a Grandma
    is motherhood's reward!

    Great-Grandparents

    What we would give if we could find
    gooey fingerprints on the blinds;
    Broken toys that need repairs;
    muddy boots left on the stairs;

    Crayon marks upon the wall,
    Paper and toys strewn down the hall;
    A bathtub full of floating toys,
    A cry, a laugh, a childish noise.

    Those days shall come again, and soon,
    Lovely racket to fill every room...
    Trinkets and knic knacs to put away,
    For we became GREAT-GRANDPARENTS today !!!

    ... or

    Our great-grandkids we do so treasure,
    Blessings of wee ones are beyond measure.
    We'll cuddle and cherish them as they grow and such ...
    We love being Great-Grandparents so very much!

    Those are such nice poems and they really do remind me of my grandparents.

    Thank you for posting these.
