    Default Your Memories...

What is your most favoritest ever in the whole world memory from your childhood - describe it and tell us why!!

Mine was putting on my mom's slip and some sheer curtains and dancing to Tchaikavski's the waltz of the flowers on the freshly waxed wood floor -  I felt like I was really dancing Ballet and the music really moved me and to this day I flash back there when I hear it.

I also have some memory about Easter Lilies and the smell sends me back but Its like it was someone elses memory

I think my absolute favorite childhood memory is any of the times when we had our daddy all to ourselves when we were on vacation. We didn't see him much growing up since he was a work-a-holic and was not home much, but oh, on vacation he was ours, all ours!!!!!

Dancing with my daddy in our living room to "Delta Dawn" when I was about 5....

Delta Dawn was supposed to be my name - it was my daddy's favorite name in the world ( ) and he'd turn it on the stereo (8-Track!!) and turn it up loud & I'd stand on his feet & he'd dance me around & around and we'd sing & laugh & enjoy each other so much....

It's my favorite memory because not too long after that, my mother woke me up to tell me she was divorcing my dad & I'd have to choose who I'd want to live with. I chose my mother. My daddy & I were never close again until my 30th birthday when he waws diagnosed with terminal cancer --- although I never danced on my daddy's feet again, we relived & created some wonderful memories in the next 14 months....

I miss my dad so much some days it's just not believable.....I still have one of his flannel shirts in a ziploc baggie...when I need a big daddy hug, I open it and can still smell his cologne after more than 4 years......

I think I'll go open that bag right now.....

I guess mine would have to be hiking through the woods in Mississippi with my daddy when we'd go on vacation.

I remember making Christmas cookies with my mom. I was allowed to put all the little silver buttons on the gingerbread men. We would sing carols in our off tune voices and make up the words we didn't know.

My mom had to go back to work when I was born. Six kids cost a lot of money. I'm not bitter about being the one who lost out on alone time with her, it just made what we had all the more special. She was a wonderful lady.

My best memorie is dancing with my Mom and Dad. Debbie hugs to you. My Daddy just passed away in Feburary and I have his shirt in a bag too. My parents loved to dance. So Sunday mornings they would make a giant breakfast and dance us all around while they were cooking. My Daddy would pull My Mommy into his arms and sing Easy lovin to her as we all ran around . I dance with my kids now. Hopefully it will be a sweet memorie for them too.

One of my favorite memories was dancing with my grandpa when I was a little girl my grandma would put the record player on & we would dance to one of our favorite songs "on the wings of a snow white dove" I would stand on his feet & we would dance around the living room together. He died almost 29 years ago & I still miss him terribly.

My best childhood memory would have to be the times I would sit with my Gram and tell her all about my babies (dollies). We would drink tea together. When I was all grown up and started having kids my Gram was starting to show signs of Alzheimer's. But she always perked up when I would sit with her and tell her all about my real babies.
