I have sewn some clothes, but I prefer making decorative and practical items like pillows, dog beds, placemats, hot pads, purses, etc. I often have to alter clothes for myself also or do repairs for DH.

I sew reasonably well...
I HATE fitting armholes though! These days I mostly do tote bags, curtains, costumes (with puff and slash sleeves.. less fitting, more gathering).
Now I'm trying to learn to knit something other than a square..

I am a sewer but haven't sewn in a while . I plan to get back to it after the holidays. I've made coats for my two girls when they were young and suits for me and curtains and spreads. I used to shop at the Piece Goods (anyone remember them ?) but nowadays the prices are ridiculous.

WAY BACK when I was in junior high and high school, but before I was old enough to get a job; I made the majority of my clothes. But then I got a job and started buying my clothes.
I have a sewing machine and I have made simple curtains and things of that sort. I tapered some dress shirts for a friend. I am contemplating taking a sewing class to refresh my skills.Mary

I am a beginner sewer and have been for about 40 years. I've made costumes, curtains and simple clothes. I'm interested in quilting and have made a few small items. I'd like to improve my skills and finish projects started.

I've been sewing a long time, but am not an expert by any means. Dd came home and said she wanted to make her own Manga character stuffed animal, and that should be pretty easy, right? LOL In other words... "Can you do it, it's too hard for me."
For having no pattern, it made my head hurt (my brain doesn't like working in 3d), but I whipped one out in a few hours & she was thrilled. She had the black one to use as a guide at least.

I have a Minor in Textile Design, and I work in an office doing pest control.... I got lost along the way.
I can pretty much take the raw cloth from the weavers and die it, print it, and cut it to sew anything.
Do I do it? no (hanging head in shame) I lost my ancient sewing machine in the divorce and the elements here rust the inner workings of the newer models.
I do have paterns I have drawn out for future projects and past projects, plus my binder of die formulas for colours and the die samples all neat and tidy.
I need a good kick in the as* and to get back to what I studied in school, guess I could work on the glass blowing too (yeah right)!
