I'm So Excited!
When I was growing up, there were four girls who were best friends. We met in second grade and basically stayed best friends throughout the rest of our lives.
One of us lives in NYC and is the head of human resources for some division of Yahoo.com and is making over $100,000.00 a year.
Another one lives in Hoboken, NJ and is a photographer (she took the photograph in my holiday card and my avatar) and works for a video graphics corporation. She travels the world frequently and brings back the most amazing photos. (Here's her personal website: http://www.wanderlustproductions.com )
The third is a financial wizard who has been the chief financial advisor for two internet companies, until she and her husband had their daughter last year and she got a part-time job so she could be at home more. She lives in California.
Then, of course, there's me...8th grade social studies teacher.
As we've gotten older, Erin (the third one) and I have grown closer and closer. We are both married with children and just have a lot more in common. The other two, have become closer to each other, as they are both unmarried and do more traveling and single-lifestyle stuff. However, when we all come together, it's like we're back in high school again and no time has passed. I've been so blessed to have these three women in my life.
Anyway, after Erin got married five years ago, she and her husband moved to SanFrancisco. I've missed her terribly, but they loved it out there and that's where they kept having to travel for work anyway.
HOWEVER, Erin called me today to tell me that her husband has accepted a position in Philadelphia with a new company and that they are moving there in two months! I'm so excited! Erin is coming home! I realize it's a two hour drive, but we'll make the trip...frequently! I don't really have any friends with kids, and my dh and hers really enjoy each other. This is just such wonderful news, I feel like I've died and gone to heaven! I've missed her so much, and she told me today that since having her daughter, she has just wanted to come home and be a mom near me so our kids could grow up together.
Anyway, I'm just so excited, I wanted to share my good news with all of you!My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

That's great! It is a wonderful thing indeed that you all are still close after all these years. It's clear it's important to all of you with many happy memories yet to be made.
