I swear these kids are going to eat me out of house and home...
I just went in the kitchen to turn the pork roast over in the crockpot and what do I see???
The big apple cobbler is half way gone!!!
Those boys of mine ate half of a huge pyrex pan of apple cobbler.
That was supposed to be for dessert tonight. Upon interogation er....questioning
they all claimed they didn't know they were supposed to wait for dessert to eat it. Almost every day now they have made a huge cobbler and devoured the thing within 24 hours. Now I'm glad they are eating fruit, but there is also tons of sugar in cobbler and I am trying really hard to get them to cut back on that. They wait until I go to work to make the things. If this keeps up the

I remember growing up my mom putting notes on everything she didn't want us (5 kids) to eat and her hiding food all over the house (her bedroom was the favored stash -- she'd even lock the door and take the key with her when she was at work so my 3 brothers wouldn't eat food she had planned for later). It wasn't like she locked up all the food -- cereal, apples or toast with PB were always available, but if she bought or baked stuff intended for a certain time, it usually ended up in the locked room!
Thankfully the teenage years are a few years off for us!
