There really are some nice people in the world...
On Wednesday this week, I left my wallet in a cart at the local Albertsons... Two hours later I went back, but no luck it was gone. I go home and put a stop on our checkcard(with the Visa logo on it)-I was not going to be happy if they used it as a Visa and really screwed up my account.. I let the store know and etc...
Fast forward to about twenty minutes ago.... A nice man came to my door and said he had been walking his dog and came across my wallet... All that was missing was a ten dollar bill and about three dollars in change.. Still there was my debit card, Safeway g/c, and three Walmart g/c... Those totaled up to about 15.00... Any way I was just glad to have my ID and everything else back. This was a kind person, and I just wanted to share this with you all..... Thanks.Bonnie mom to

That must be a relief. Don't forget to call your bank back and let them know you've got your checkcard back.

That IS so nice to hear! Usually when my wallet gets stolen, its the pics and the annoyance of having to cancel all my accts that gets me more than any $$ that was lost. Shame on those people that took the $$$ but KUDOS for the good man that returned it!

Isn't is nice to hear a little good news every now and again?
I'm thrilled for ya Bonnie, that you got it back-mostly intact and that you had the experience of meeting a kind stranger.

Bonnie, I agree with you there are a lot of nice people in the world. I'm pleased you got your wallet back with only a few things missing.
On the other side of this story I get a lot of things left at our store or handed in. Out the front of our store there are benches for people to sit. They often leave things behind. In the past six months we've had handed in from the bences or had left in our store 5 wallets and purses, 6 pairs of sunglasses, a few books, two bag full of things, a craft bag with knitting in it and a man returned to us one of our bags with our logo containing $100 worth of emu oil an English family had just bought. I phoned the resort they talked about but they never phoned back.
All the other things, if they aren't picked up (some are) and we can't identify the owner, after a few months I sell the item on ebay and donate the money to the local RSPCA - the animal welfare association here. I can't think of any other way to deal with it in an ethical manner. I'd be happy to hear ideas from everyone on what we should do with these lost items.
