Default This is the kind of stuff that cracks me up...

Bruce says my kids are simple stupid - they have these humungous academic abilities but alot of the time you have to wonder if they would know what to do if you put a blanket over their head - would they just go to sleep like a birdee?

Damon just came in (9 yr old) and said "Momma I am preparing a peanut butter sandwich and I selected raisins cuz they are more nutritious than jelly" and I said wow Damon thats an excellent choice (thinking to myself wow what proper english he used and making good choices too) and he then says - "oh yeah and I came in here cuz I stepped in weezil poop so what do I do?"

Clearly not walk out of the cemented pantry into the carpeted room to tell me!! EEgads!!

this is a slice of my days...

I can relate totally. I have two children who are designated gifted, have averages in the 90's but don't have a lick of common sense.

DH has a favourite Far Side cartoon that he put up for the kids.

It shows a kid trying to get in a door marked pull by pushing on it. The sign over the door says "School for the Gifted"

Hope the poop didn't get too far on the carpet!
