health plan question?

I was wondering if anyone was familiar with a health care plan called "Healthcare Advantage"? I am trying to get some health insurance sorted out, but I have signed up to this plan because it doesn't have a deductible, and it sounds pretty decent. It isn't an insurance plan as such, but a plan that gives you discounts on all your care- there are 400,000 doctors signed up, plus you can use it at any hospital, and ER, labs, Opticians, and Dentists. There is also no problem with prexisting conditions. The reason you get discounted care is because the company negotiates with the doctors and they agree to charge a certain amount to the patient.
It seems a little strange, but then so does medical insurance. I haven't ever had to think about coverage before.

I'm not familiar with it but we use one through the BSA network. It costs us $26.95/mo. and I'm not sure it's worth it to us. We've had it for about 18 months now and have only used it once.....I know if we were to have a major health crisis it would be nice to have b/c it gives really good discounts but ....... . You might wanna call some of the local hospitals around you just make sure it's accepted. Sorry I'm not more help.

Thanks Lisa- I appreciate your advice- I guess we will just need to see how often we are going to end up using it, and what kind of discounts we are offered when we do- If not, we will just revert onto a regular medical insurance plan.
