Does doing your taxes make you crazy?
I HATE the whole tax season. We always do them right away once we have everything we need but I am ALWAYS paranoid that we will get an audit
Now we don't fudge the numbers at all and have never done anything "sneaky" so why on earth do I stilol worry?
Anyone else?

I don't worry--I keep good records, file honestly and correctly and I file right away too, to get it over with!

I don't worry about audits but I do hate doing the taxes..... my taxes, both my daughter's taxes, my brother's taxes and until recently a neighbor's taxes. This year I have extra to claim so I really don't want to do them. After my taxes it is now time to fill out fasa's for college this year I need to fill out two.

I don't mind them....ours are pretty basic and easy to do. I made a honest mistake on the numbers last year and they sent me a correction note...it was no big deal but I worried about it forever...lol... I just knew that a silver ford taurus with goverment tags was going to pull up in the driveway and two men dressed in black suits were going to get out...lol...
I will for sure recheck the numbers this year...lol..

I don't worry either. I keep good records and file honestly. I made a math error a few years ago also and it was very obvious what I had done so I never worried about it. I don't think I would worry even if I had to be audited.

I don't worry about the taxes, but they definitely stress me out. Dh does them (it's the one financial area I turn over to him) and does them well, but he always waits until April to do them. I seriously don't stop thinking about them from January until he sends them in.
He promised that this year he'd do them as soon as all the paperwork came in. We're just waiting for the mortgage interest statement and my W-2's.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

I don't worry about them~ my mom's a professional tax preparer, and she does ours for us for free.
So, I know they're done right & I don't have to worry.

We have a friend who is retired from the IRS who does ours every year, so I just take it all to him. I do however get stressed waiting for everything to arrive cause I like to file early too.

I hate, hate, hate doing the taxes!!! I am very honest and when I had a question one yeat, I called and ask the IRS helpline and H&R Block. They both gave me the same answer so I went with it. Nearly 3 years later the IRS comes back at us saying we made a $66 mistake (it was the item I asked the IRS helpline and H&R Block about and did what they said to do
) and it was going to cost us about $1000 with the penalties and interest.
I contacted my lawyer who got me in touch with a good accountant and they gave him 3 different amounts that we owed (it varied upon who he talked to and what day it was
). Anyway, they said it did not matter that they had advised us wrong, we still had to pay all the penalties and such. $2000 later we finally got them paid off!
I even offered to pay the stupid $66 since it was their mistake in the first place but noooo.....they wanted all that "extra" money. I can't stand the IRS and I feel sorry for anyone who had to work for them! That agency is one of the worst organized government agencies ever and I don't trust them as far as I can throw them!

I hate tax season, we have our own accountant because my husband is self employed. But every year at this time is horrible because we have to go over every single job he has done and all those documents are a pain, we even deduct millage and dr bills, cell phone bills, and medicine prescriptions, so you can imagine how stressful it has become!!!!
Plus we are falling under the guideline where we have to pay them money, and that is with me not working and having two kids! It just sucks!!!!

I also love doing the taxes. Don't ask me why, but I look forward to it every year. I'm not worried about an audit either, I do it all honestly and if they want to come on over and check me out, come on, I will have snacks ready for them.............
