Yep, I'm a step mother. My DH was married before me, silly man. Anyhow he had three children, two of whom died. It was very sad and is what broke up the marriage. One son, my step son, survived that marriage. I've know him since he was 13, he's now 40 and we are best friends.

My dsd is 10. She lives 3000 miles away and we hardly ever see her. Dh isn't very good at pursuing it and I just try to understand that its not my battle. Its all very frustrating.

Yes, I'm step-mother to 2 boys, ages 7 & 12.
They are like my own though and they've been calling me mom for years.
They're real mother has been out of the picture since the night she walked out on them, oh geez, it's been about 4 years now.

I have 2 stepsons, 16 and 19. They are great kids and I have a great relationship with them. I think that the fact that I had children of mine that were close to their ages helped to bond our family together, my kids are 18, 19 and 22.

The oldest child [son] is my step-child.
We were married just about 1 month before he turned 5 yr. old.
The first 8 years or so were pretty scary sometimes!
I guess we made it, but what he has done with his life is not great...in my opinion!
Oh well, such is life

My oldest son is actually my stepson. Shane was 4 when Arlie and I married and he is now 28, married to a wonderful girl and they have two beautiful children. Shane joined the Army right out of high school and was stationed at Ft. Campbell and that is where he met Patty. After being stationed in Korea for a year, and then serving in Iraq for a year and a half, he is now home and out of the Army. He, Patty and the kids live in Indiana. Shane goes to college at night and works at the post office during the day. I am just so proud of him and I also forget that I didn't give birth to him. He is one in a million!!!

3 step kids, here. DH had 4 kids, by first wife, and 3 died of cystic fibrosis (sp?) DH's bro got out of jail for murder and DH let him stay with them. Found out wife was screwing bro, end of marriage.
DH had 2 more by another lady (?) caught her screwing former boyfriend, end of relationship.
1st step daughter (married 3 times and now a single mom) is 18 months younger than me, she's 46 or 47?
Has twins, boy and girl that are about 11, now.
Next is a boy who's 35 with two boys, going through a divorse now.
Next boy is 34, never been married, raising a boy that's about 7.
All are out of state, the youngest is in Alaska.
BTW, we've been married 27 years.
Some say: three's the charm...
lacyj
p.s. We never had children together, DH had a vascitime (sp), we tried to reverse, didn't work. Step daughter calls me mom, go figure...She was concieved when I was 9 months old...
