Default Ok now I don't feel so badly about our monthly grocery bill!

Did anybody watch Wife Swap tonite? Did ya catch the line about how the rich family spends $1000 per WEEK on groceries and eating out?!!! Can you believe that for 3, count em THREE people!?! I almost fell over. How in the world does anybody spend that one eats for 3? Do they eat caviar all week long?

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

I caught it and I have no idea how they do that. I can not even imagine. Of course I also cant fathom eating every meal on paper plates.

I cannot imagine either. I know that when dear friends and hubby and I go to our favorite place to eat out west, the bill is usually around $500.00 for the four of us. But that also includes a fine bottle of wine. These folks must spend most of it eating out? Eating out can really add up quickly

They did say $1,000/wk was for groceries and eating out. I agree, they must eat out ALOT..and at pretty nice places! WOW That's $52,000.00 year on groceris and eating out!

I also agree the dark hair women and the paper plates! And cheap paper plates at that! Paper products, not very frugal! She was a bit of an "odd duck". When they visited later, she had not made one change in her life from the experience... a bit sad...

$1000 -- sorry I missed the show. I don't think I could spend that much in a week if I had too. Sheesh -- obviously she has it handled!

Oh yes she can afford it she only has 1 15 year old daughter and also had a housekeeper and a house manager! Oh well to each their own right. I thought it was sad that the other lady hadnt changed anyhting. I kept thinking how badly she needed AmyBoz! The lady that was so unorganized, I know I hve seen her somewhere else. when she was in the floor of the grocery store sorting coupons it looked so familiar and now it is driving me crazy. ABC family did a show once where people competed to be the star of their own show does anybody remeber the name of it because I think that is where I saw her and if I dont find out I will loose my mind!

I saw the show, and didn't know what to think about spending $1,000 a week on groceries and eating out. And, how about the sahm who bought things on sale just because they were on sale??? That was killing me!! She thought she was saving money, but she was spending it on things she clearly did not need.

That family is from a town in my area.  They were also on the "My Life As A Sitcom" show.

The lady was on the news last night complaining that she felt the wife swap show made her look bad, and only focused on the clutter in her home, not on the great family atmosphere they have worked hard to create.   She also mentioned that they are auditioning for another show, but I didn't catch the name of that one.

I missed the show, don't usually watch it, but I wish I'd seen this one.

That show is wild! They pick the most extreme people they can find. It is a hoot to watch, though. I can't imagine spending that much money on food for a week. I try to keep our weekly grocery bills to less than $100, and we have five people, including 2 adults, 2 teens, and a 10 y.o. who eats more than any of us!!!

I saw it and was shocked that someone could spend $1000 a week on groceries PLUS have a house manager and housekeeper!!

I also thought that the lady with the long dark hair needed Amy to help her declutter. I can't imagine having a bed on my livingroom floor continuously!!
