Default I am so ready for summer!!!

I know I am a bad mom for thinking this way but I just hate it when my kids have to go to school - I just like it when they are home with me and we can do things together and I get to hear about the things they like and what hey want to do some day, etc. Truth be known if noone was holding me accountible I would keep them home sick more often. I have been thinking this all day - looking forward to swimming in the pool with thenm and going on long nature hikes with a picnic lunch and sketching nature. (both boys were home sick today and we had good conversations squeezed in around mom's nonsense. And then Damon's silly teacher had to call and really drive my desire right on home (My desire to have them home all the time). It was beautiful outside today and the back deck was so warm - we sat out on the swings and fed whatever chickens climbed the deck stairs for treats. We talked about books and favorite subjects and talked  a little about being assertive with other kids. It was just really nice and I long for the warm days of summer when we can get up and do this everyday.

I think you are wonderful mom to want to spend time with your children and do things kimmee. Too bad more moms were not like you. every now and then, i give my dd's the option to stay home from school and hang out with dh and I. Adults get personal days from work, so why not kids from school? they are both A students, so i never worry about them slipping behind.

I too cannot wait for summer! i was just hinking of that yesterday, as I was looking out at all of the snow here. It's time once again to start planting my flowers and open up the trailer and camp. Just the thought of it makes me so excited!

    Kimmee,

I know exactly how you feel. I used to feel so guilty when the kids would stay home from school for whatever reason, and I couldn't wait till the holidays, spring break and summer vacation came around.

Having your child or children with you everyday is just one of the many pleasures of Homeschooling. I love it!
