There better be good karma...
points out there for me!
In the midst of a blizzard, I got to get up at 5AM and haul my sorry butt to work...got here 10 min. early and a kid already waiting for me.
Now, I was supposed to leave hereat 12N. Not to be. Sick kid with some GI crud. Got him just about ready to head back to his dorm..and he got all faint on me. Back to bed with you! :wavey:
Now, I have no clue as to when I my possibly go home. Depends on him. Family out of state.
Dining hall sent us lunch
Yum. Now, I may just need to mosey over and watch some cable garbage on the fancy plasma HDTV they bought for us. Poking him q15 to force PO fluids. Gotta love Blue Gatorade.
May mosey out instead to try to digout my car from the snow tomb.
See, some school nurses DO work weekends.

Oh I hope the kid feels better soon so you can go home. Atleast you comfortable for now. Sending good vibes for a safe trip home.

Good news? His vitals are back in normal range for a 16yo
He's on his second bottle of Blue Gatorade, his lips are no longer chapped/parched. Still has some nasty dark circles under his eyes, but we see improvement.
No puking or pooping for about 4hrs!!!!Yeah! Of course, he does have Nurse Ratchet going in to bug him about every 20 min.
May have to make him some chicken broth in our Jen-Air kitchenette. Well, if ya gotta be stranded with a sick kid, this place IS pretty posh.

Well, I'm with him until sometime tomorrow.......
Just as he starts to rally, another wave of 9.6 peristalsis hits him.
Got out the Big Guns Controlled Substances stuff to cork him. Got 8oz. of fluid in him at once!
Making progress.
Called Dh and Monkey Boys so they don't expect me home tonight. Being a Good Frugal Spouse, he's making a Freezer meal! Frozen ravioli, sauce, and meatballs, with cut up veggies. Boys have shoveled walks and drive for me.
Me? I ordered from the Kitchen
Should be here within the hour. Will snuggle down, watch it snow, and catnap between sets of vitals on Boy...yes, we are allowed to sleep when over-nighting with a student.

How's your patient doing, Bessiemae? Any better? How did you weather the night, no pun intended? Here's hoping you get home today and get to rest for a bit.
