Another new person from the UK
Hi all, here is my questionnaire
How did you hear about frugal village? Internet search
What interests you here? Recipes, frugal tips, advice, friendship and I love the challenges.
Do you know any other members here? Not yet!
How many kids? Ages? Joseph 7 and Erin 4 Both at school
Tell us about yourself. My name is Tonya, I am 35 and married to Mike. I am a SAHM but no kids at home now as my DD started school in September (They start young here
) We got ourselves into financial problems as we overstretched ourselves. Nothing serious came of it as we managed to sort something out, but at one stage we did not have any money in the bank and cc was maxed out. My husband earns a good income and our mortgage is relatively average, we just overspent without a budget and also only paid back the minimum payments on the cc's. Now we have one cc that we keep at home. The other was cut up and we are paying off the balance. We have a tight grocery budget as I was spending over £100 a week on food. I now make my own food from scratch in most cases. I also use a lot of vegetables and less meat. My husband is so impressed with how much food we have and how little it costs us!
Do you own any pets? A 12 year old cross called Sam
SAHM or Working mom? SAHM
Married or single? see above
Interests and hobbies? I just love the net, and posting on forums. Learning to create a website, camping, reading, cinema, walking, swimming.

Hi Gina and Julia, thanks for the welcome.
Julia, have you been back to the UK lately? Was it a good move for you or do you have one foot each side of the pond so to speak lol Its just we lived in the States for a year where my son was born and I missed home etc but as soon as we came back to the UK to live I was missing NC like mad. There has been a real trend lately of people moving away from the UK due to crime, traffic, house prices etc we have considered it but the right job hasnt yet come up for my husband. He works for a company that makes Aircraft/navy boat engines.

We've never been back to the UK in all the time we've been here!
We love Perth and think it was the best move we made.
I hear a lot from my family still over there about how much things have changed for the worse!
Of course we have a lot of crime here too but I think that's everywhere really.
Hope your husband finds a job to suit him in another country if you do decide to leave the UK again.
Julia
