    Default Exciting News!!!!!! **New Update**

It has seemed that for the past couple of months, lots of stumbling blocks have gotten in my way, especially where finishing my credential is concerned.

I recently got involved with the elementary classes substituting for the Visually Impaired/Special Education Department and decided that this is something that I REALLY want to do.

I recently applied for a grant that is totally reimbursible for all school related costs. The scholarship program that I am working with in my school district is still intact, but with the rising costs of tuition in California, it just isn't enough anymore. I have not been able to go back because there is not enough money left over anymore to purchase textbooks ( which are about equal to each quarter's tuition).

I recieved a call from the lady in the program a few minutes ago. I had to write an essay describing any hardships that I have endured and what my reasons were for wanting to teach in Special Ed. The essay was very hard for me to write because I had to go into all the things that went on with Otis and I and it was just difficult to cough it all up again and find a professinal way to talk about it.  Well, she called me this morning and told me that I look like an excellent candidate for the program and that I only have one more obstacle/hurdle to get through. Now my application goes to one more person for final review and she expects to be calling me sometime Monday for an official CONGRATULATIONS and orientation!

I am so excited that I can't even control my emotions right now. I am crying and laughing at the same time and can't even make myself focus on the things I was doing around the house. This is such a blessing for me. It is totally reimbursibe, so I have to pay the costs upfront, but she just told me to start collecting my reciepts for EVERYTHING school related.

Thank you Jesus for still believing in me when no body else seems to!

     ****************UPDATE*****************

The lady called me and asked me to bring in transcripts that had my BA posted on them (Ithought I sent her those). I made a trip all the way to Downey (about 32 miles) and she accepted me right there on the spot because she said that despite everything my GPA was really high!! (3.08 dosent seem high to me, but heck I aint complaining)

She put me on the list for a brand new laptop, which may take a bit because they ask big companies for donations, but eventually I WILL get one to make note taking easier in class.

I am so excited, I sang loudly in my car all the way home!!!

    WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO
