Hmmmm. . . Do I look "poor" or something?
A couple weeks ago, a lady in my sign class came up to me and asked if
I was taking the interpreter classes. I told her yes and she wanted
to know if I had taken Deaf Culture yet. Told her no-- so she hands
me 3 books and tells me "Merry Christmas". It's the required books
for the deaf culture class! Totals over $150.
Then one of the nurses at work brings me in 2 brand new pairs of scrub
pants. She had purchased them for herself but decided they were too
short for her. She never returns anything ( a few years ago she gave
me a brand new swim suit).
And now this week, another nurse gives me 2 more pair of scrub pants
that were a pinch too snug for her.
I've been trying to update my scrubs (buying one piece every pay
period), but I didn't think I looked "poor".

I doubt you do Denise..... I always am thinking of "who can I give this to...?" When I have something that I don't need or doesn't fit or I can't use. I hate to see things go to waste and love it when I find someone who appreciates being given things.....maybe that's why you've been so blessed lately, you're a gracious recipient....(?). Enjoy your freebies.

I think it is great. When I am given something I try to just pass on something else to those I think might like them. Pay it forward.

I am glad for the gifts- they are all needed and wanted. It just surprised me.
Mostly from the ones I work with-- I don't ever mention my financial difficulties with them, or discuss my money troubles at work. So I guess it just caught me by surprise.

I doubt that you look poor at all. I'm sure it was just devine intervention. He knew your needs.

Sunshine...Enjoy the freebies....I am sure you don't look poor. I dont' look poor but people know that I will always take freebies. Maybe the people who gave you these know you are a thankful person for things you receive. They would rather give them to you then someone ungrateful!!
No matter what there reason, I think it's great!!!

Sounds to me like you are being blessed. You are a dear person and I truly believe that you deserve this kindness. Glad to hear good news!

I agree that it is probably because you are appreciative when someone thinks of you. I know there are people I wont give to because they won't bother to say thank you. People enjoy giving and like it when recipients are appreciative.

I think it goes back to the old saying about good deeds coming back to you. You are so giving and kind to all those around you that it is just fate bringing some of your kindness and goodness back to you.

Denise, I am sure you don't 'look poor' to your friends and co-workers. But I bet you are the first one to help them out whenever they need it and this is just a 'thank you' for being you.
Enjoy your goodies!
