Advertising on a pregnant belly...

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - A woman selling advertising on her pregnant belly will receive $4,050 from the highest eBay auction bidder, Golden Palace Casino.

Amber Rainey will have the online casino's Web site temporarily tattooed to her stomach Thursday. It will remain until she delivers her first child, due on March 21.

Rainey didn't think her belly would fetch much as advertising space, but the casino has a record of unusual buys in online auctions, including paying $28,000 for a grilled cheese sandwich that bears the image of the Virgin Mary.

Rainey has received national attention as her eBay auction page received more than 50,000 hits. Still, she said she was surprised by the final bid price and other possible perks.

Rainey said Golden Palace officials would like her to expose her belly at concerts and the Super Bowl, though no final decisions have been made.

She hasn't decided whether she would auction another body part or stomach again.

"Maybe once is enough," she said.

I just can't imagine this! When I'm pregnant my pet peeve is people just coming up and touching my belly, I just can't understand calling attention to my skin and stretch marks that way! This kind of reminds me of all the tiny, tummy exposed maternity clothes all the celebs wear these days... Goes without saying I can't imagine wearing those either!

Wonder if they like to advertise on any of my fat parts. I think we could work some clever advertising around all my cellulite. LOL

The thing that bugs me is not so much that someone will try and make money like this but that someone else is willing to pay her for it.

I could advertise for a cellulite cream as a "before" shot. and across my belly as a "before" for a stretch mark creme. I could be raking in the dough. OOOH, my head is swimming with ideas, lol

If you do a search on ebay for pregnant belly advertising...there's more lol guess everyone is trying to hop on the wagon now.

I don't think I would ever do this, but it's funny to see what other people will do for money and what other people will pay them to do.

Go to the original link for the pregnant belly advertising and click on the winner's i.d. Then click on some of the stuff this person has bid on and won. Weird stuff and not cheap either!

Eewwwww! I don't think I will jump on that particular band wagon! Can you imagine what it will look like when she deliveres? Probably won't even be able to read it. YICK!
