    Default Here's your sign....

.....for those of you who know who Bill Engval is - the comedian. It was all I could do not to use his catch phrase last week. My littlest darling is a great muralist. She has adorned several of our walls with her lovely artwork. She works in all mediums too - marker, crayon, sidewalk chalk, and even lipstick and nail polish. We need to paint anyway. so we haven't done much with it.

My mom, her friend, and other visiting friends all looked at the wall and said "Someone drew on your wall"

It's a good thing they noticed or the artwork would have gone unrecognised for decades. (That's what I told someone who said the same exact thing once when my budding artist drew on his walls )

You know what I wound up doing for DS? I found some chalkboard paint at Home Depot. It was about $15 for the can, ouch. I picked up a small foam roller brush and some masking tape. At the dollar store on my way home i picked up chalk. When i got home, I prepped the wall (it is in the paint can's label) and painted him a chalk board right on his wall. Works great. He knows that he can draw right there, anything he wants. And I don't have to try to store a huge clunky chalk board, just chalk --i keep it in a ziplock bag and keep that put up till he asks for it. And when he grows out of it...well i dunno, maybe KILZ will cover it...but i don't need to worry about that now, he loves it and the kids use it all the time. I have plenty left to do one for DD later this spring as well (she was not interested when i did ds's, but come spring (when I can open windows for ventilation) I will do one for her on her wall.

My little artists did quite a number in Zachary's room. *sigh* I haven't tackled it yet.

LOL. I love his "here's your sign" stuff. Cracks me up!

I think all kids must be related to Picasso or Monet, or Manet, etc etc etc. They just do beautiful artwork!!! I have even had a friends child come picasso my walls when they visited. Luckily, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser took that off.

    I can top that...hehe

After pulling an all-nighter...painting my living room walls and floor....preping to move...You know--always leave it better than you found it.

My darlings decided to help Mommy....I dropped from exhaustion on the couch. The thought ran thru my mind that I should hide the painting paraphanalia....but did I? (HERE'S YOUR SIGN)

When I awoke to 2 smiling faces shaking me (did I mention that the 8 and 3 yr old were covered in cream and brown paint) I thought I was having a nightmare!

It took the entire day to "redo"...It's funny -- now!

I remember looking at them and the "help" they gave me...I cried.

    It's the little things...giggle
