on line at the grocery store
I am at line at the grocery store recently. I have about $170 worth of groceries and my usual pile of well organized coupons, I have purchased for all, no outdated etc.
There is an older couple behind me with a small amount of things.
Naturally my coupons need to go through and a few need to be checked etc., fault of the store, not me.
Couple behind me, woman huffing and puffing, says to husband "how much can you really save, it was never worth my time to bother with those" Husband says to wife "Not all women are provided for the way you were, some women HAVE to do that, she must have a lot of kids" (Diapers were on sale so I stocked up)
I say to older couple upon leaving "this trip it saved me $85, and as for being provided for, my coupons just came out of a $1,200 Chanel purse, I don't need anyone to provide for me"
I am not a huge fan of other humans these days.

Wow, $85! Good going! I guess it's just like everything else, people have to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong! I'm with you, I'm not a big fan of humans either anymore.

WTG on the $85!!!

I have to give the man half of 1/2 a point for trying to get her to think of someone else's situation.
It just seems like socitey is getting ruder and more self centered every day.

I agree with frugal mel...People are getting ruder....
I had a lady in line once who was complaining and huffing..The cashier said to her,"Unless you want to pay for this ladies groceries, she has a right to save herself the money!!"...needless to say I still go to that cashier!!!! She always makes it a big deal when I go to her line with my coupons!!
I would have turned to that lady with the same things I tell my kids.." IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY, DON"T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!"

I had an experience with a rude gentleman yesterday as well. I didn't say a word, just smiled.~*Michelle*~

I have a certain checker that I go to as well in our Piggly Wiggly. I don't understand people who think clipping and using coupons are a waste of time.
By the way, WTG on the $85 dollar savings!

At $85/week, it would take about 14 weeks to buy that Chanel purse.
But ... could you please post a photo or a link to show us that purse!?2012 Knitting in progress
