Any homebodies out there?
People often think I am strange for enjoying staying home. I don't really go out much unless I have to and if I do go out i plan my trip so that it will not take too long. Since I am quite shy and I have a hard time talking to people, I enjoy staying home. I am comfortable and feel secure and safe at home. I know I should get out more but I don't think there is anything wrong with being a homebody....
Anyone else like me?

That could easily be something I would have written myself. I hardly ever leave if i don't have to. I don't know if i have crossed the line between being a homebody and a hermit, lol. I don't like going out with hubby, and since I don't drink, when I do go out there isn't much that my hubby would enjoy with me. I dunno, i guess of all the places in the world, i prefer to be home.

Great question.
I'm a homebody as well. I prefer staying home rather than going out. I feel so comfortable in my home and love the quiet of it than when I go out the noise and fast pace drives me nuts. I'd prefer sitting at my sewing machine to going to a movie, or reading a good book than going to a mall. I love sitting in my rocking chair and enjoying the warmth of the sun to travelling to the nearest store.
Glad to know there are other homebodies out there.

I am a homebody as well. I live in a small city and everything is near by but I prefer to stay at home. In fact I have to go to a baby shower on Saturday this week and a B-day on Sunday. I know I will enjoy both but I'd rather just stay home.

Oooh! Me too. I hate parties -- they're exhausting. And I don't really like vacations either.

Another homebody for the most part, I don't do well in crowds it seems as if my head starts spinning around and I get light headed and dizzy I know it sounds crazy but I need to have space.

I love my home, it is an "English(wo)mans Castle!
I only go out when I have to, be it to the Bank, the Hospital or the shops.
I tend to make a long shopping list and go once a week or less.
I have been known to not leave my house for 8 days at a time! My husband said he could never do that, he would go crazy.
The radio keeps me company and I can often go for many days without talking to anyone except my hubby.
Maybe, things would be different if we lived in a warmer climate!

I'd rather be home too!!!..I like to get away once in a great while, and only for a short time.....Niceday, I have a problem with crowds too, I get really bad anxiety attacks...we are going to a very high-end resturant( dh's company gave him a gift card for Christmas) Saturday and I am not looking forward to it..I would rather go to our diner hangout,we know everyone there and it is very casual, like eating at home

There is no place I would rather be than in my home
I work 3rd shift, but I love spending my days at home...
I have a friend that I usually spend Mondays with (usually we do some errands together, and since she's a homebody too, we end up at one or the others house and share a cup of tea or two and some conversation) - and I do love to see my family on holidays...
When we do go out, it's usually to get the kids out of the house, and we do LOVE going to baseball games in the spring and summer (mostly ds's little league games and local triple A ball - a very fun and frugal family day), but if not for that, I could spend all my time at home very easily

I'd rather be home than anywhere else. This is completely opposite to how I used to be but as I aged I liked my home best. I'm not scared of being out or anxious about crowds, I just prefer being at home, either alone or with my family.

I rarely leave my house. Infact there are times when I won't go anywhere for weeks at a time.Mostly though it's due to health problems I have & the kind of pain I'm suffereing, everyday is a challenge to just get up in the mornings.

I'm a homebody too! I love people but in small manageable doses. I like teaching my classes and going to church. I hate malls or shopping (except for yarn) and most social events don't hold much attraction for me. I would rather be at home surrounded by my family or even alone. Fortunately, DH is much the same.

You all make me feel so much better! I have never been a party girl and I would rather read a good book than go out
My husband is actually energized by other people but I am totally exhausted after a get together with friends. I guess this is what they call introvert vs. extrovert? I do enjoy others, just in small doses

I'm the same as all of you I'd rather be home then anywhere else of course that doesn't work out when 1 son has to be at school at 8 and another has pre-k at 12 and then of course you have to pick them both up at 2:35

As I've gotten older I find that I prefer to stay home rather than go anywhere also. Most weekends I just stay home, only leaving the house during the week to go to work. I work with the public, so I get sick of talking to people, and when I am home I don't have to talk
