New compulsive spender here
Hi everyone. I'm M. I'm 37 and live in MI with my 9yo dd. I've been separated for a few months now, and only work part time. I have a serious problem with specding compulsively (on dinners out more than anything else), and I really need to curb it before I ruin my life and that of my daughter. I hope to learn frugal tips and get inspiration here.

Hi Free! Welcome to the Village. Yep, time to start cutting out those dinners out. Try some more fun stuff home like dinner & game night. You will have bunches of fun and save some money.
You've got the future to think about. Have a dinner out & spend all that money, no real memories made. Stay at home ,cook together, play a game = good stuff.~*Darlene*~

Hi Free, welcome to the village. Cutting out those dinners is a good first step. We have only eaten out about 3-4 times in the past year. It can be done!

Hello and welcome to the Village.

Maybe when you cook meals, you can make extras and freeze them for later meals. It sure will save you money and time later on.~*Michelle*~

Hi, Free.
One babystep to begin: Get some quick-fix convenience foods from the grocery store. Marie Calendar's frozen dinners, for example. [We use those a lot on vacation. Much cheaper than eating out.]
Then, there are other steps to increase healthy eating while reducing costs. Searh the forums; you'll find a lot.
Pretty soon, we'll introduce you to a secret weapon most of us use: THE CROCKPOT!2012 Knitting in progress
- Leadlight shawl
- fingerless mitts
- Amiga cardigan
- Gilmore vest
- gray socks, brown socks, gray-and-brown socks, green socks

- Vivonne Bay hat
- Petits trous de printemps scarf
