The Grocery Game
Does anyone subscribe to "The Grocery Game"? I have checked out the web-site, it is basically what I have been doing for a long time, matching weekly ads, (preferably from a store that doubles coupons and has good loss leaders) with coupons and stockpiling.
I don't feel the urge to pay someone for making me a list, but others who are not familiar with stockpiling and/or couponing might appreciate what the service provides.

I have subscribed for two months. The cost comes out to $1.25 a week. The best part of the GG is that they do not list phantom sales on The List so you don't waste your coupons on a so-so sale. They have a large database that tells them when to use the coupons. I have benefited greatly with that AND the unadvertised sales that The List includes. My List store is very expensive so I love that I don't have to browse the store looking for the unadvertised sales. I would wind up buying loads of things that we don't need. This way, I go in with blinders on and come out with only the great deals. My store also only doubles coupons .50 or lower but I have still saved a lot! It's totally worth it. Why not try it for the $1 trial month? You might like it.

Thanks for the feedback, Carol. I might try it out, but I saved 71% on my last shopping trip to Dillon's (Kroger), they only double up to 50¢ coupons. Do you really think I could save much more with "The List"? DH says I should have been the first to market this idea.

Wow!! You really know what you're doing if you saved that much! I doubt you would save more than that. Since I'm just starting out, I don't know what a "great" sale is vs. a good sale and I always seem to use the coupon when it's not the most advantageous. I'm sure you've got it all down if you're doing that well. Keep up the good work!!

Well, I went ahead and signed up for the $1 four week trial. We will see how it goes. I did see a couple of things on last weeks list that I had missed, so maybe this will be a good thing.

Does Anyone Use Grocery Game?
Could anyone tell me more about their experience with Grocery Game? Are you really able to save so much? The only store they have listed in my area (northern IL) is Jewel and I'm not sure that they do the double or triple coupon thing, so I'm wondering if it's worth it.
I've been to the site and tried to read about it, but I'm still a little confused. I also tried to find the "Game Rules" but can't find the link. Do you have to sign up to see the rules?
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think it's just wwww.grocerygame.com or you can google "grocery game" and it will be the first one to pop up.
I know I read a thread about it somewhere on here, which is how I found out about it, but I can't find the thread anywhere now
Let me know what you think about it after you check it out!

I haven't done it, but it looked to me to depend on
* a good source of coupons
* a lot of name-brand, highly-processed foods.
And double coupon stores would help significantly.
So, since I'm mostly cooking from scratch; don't have access to coupons; and my stores don't double coupons anyway, I decided it's not for me.2012 Knitting in progress

I use grocerygame. I always save 50-65% on my groceries. You should be able to get to the game rules. You might want to ask your grocery store if they double. I use King Soopers (Kroger) and they double.

I did the trial time with the grocery game and am now trying out the one mentioned above.
I just didnt have time to really use it when I did the trial, but it's a great idea.

I just signed up for the trial and have only use it once for a "mini" grocery shopping trip. So far, I love it, but this weekend will be my "real" shopping trip, so we'll see how well it works then.
The key is to have lots of coupons and to stockpile.

Is there a Canadian counterpart to these? A lot of the coupons are only good in the US.
