Default Mommy Brag on my 7 year old

DDs school is having Jump Rope for Heart. She has a pledge sheet. She took it around, by herself at church, and she has $102 so far! We haven't even hit the Grandmas up yet. She is doing this in memory of her Grandpa (my Daddy) who died from heart disease.

This is the same little girl who set up a drink stand at the end of our driveway to raise money for the Tsunami victims. So far she has $12.

I am just so proud of her!

Aaawww that's so great. I'm proud she's so enthusiastic with the fund raising, and for such great causes too.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

    Cheryl,

I dont know how old your daughter is - but at any age that's amazing!

For children to understand (and many these days it seems dont) the value of family... and to honour that - girl - you're daughter is something special.

I personally am not into scrapbooking, but I know many on here are - if you are Cheryl, I'd be doing some scrapbooking on this. Maybe take pics or use some brochure or something. If nothing else, WRITE IT DOWN! so one day when she's older you can either throw it in her face (if she's being a rude teen (like I used to be)) or you can show her what an awesome young woman she's blossomed into. (however her hormones take her! )

These are the kinda things I wish I could remember that I did as a child.... and I wish my family would've shared with me. I know I did some nifty things... just no clue what. It'd be an honoured memeory when she's old enough to understand better about family (perhaps when she has one of her own??)

Hold her close Cheryl... these moments ARE precious.

    Sue.
