Question Families: Eat in / Dine Out

Okay... probly my first SHORT post...

How many of you find it difficult to persuade your families to stay in & eat vs. "let's just jump in the car & go" ???

Nope- my clan would rather eat at home. They like my cooking better than eating out, and they get to eat more if they want.

My dh never wants to eat out so it's not a problem convincing him to stay home. LOL

Our family prefers eating at home too.
    What about your family Sue?

My family loves my cooking... literally everyday I hear how good something is... even if i've made it a hundred times already.

but i'd swear they prefer to eat out... not only because they eat meat & i dont... but because BF thinks it's cheaper (no matter how many times i point out it's not) but they just like that kinda food more - i guess.

It was definitely a struggle for awhile, but I held my gorund, and now they don't even bother asking, 'cuz they know I am gonna say I can make it cheaper and better at home.

But it was a struggle esp. with them being teens!!

We live in a very small town with extremely limited option for eat/take out so that helped me. (although I have to admit sometimes it felt like punishment) I suggest you just try to make the foods they like to eat out at home fairly often......

I too live in a small town so we have one option here. However, if we drive into the bigger towns around us (college towns) there are many, many temptations! Most of the time we will just wait until we get home to eat but if we find ourselves stuck in town, we wil give in. Plus, the bys have their favorite Chinese buffet place and for $5.99 each I find it a bargain over McDonalds. They can get filled up and have some fruit and vegis too!
