    Smile Need suggestions

On Easter Sunday, we are flying to Florida to visit our good friends. My question is, what can we take with us to entertain dd (4 yrs. old)? We have a four hour drive to the airport, then the time on the plane. We need stuff that doesn't take up too much room. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

OOOPs forgot to mention the three hour layover in Washington DC. I know from experience that there isn't much to do in an airport once you get thru security!

Things for her to draw/write with -- her own small notebook with markers or crayons.
Some games that require her to observe her surroundings -- like a hunt and find type of game. "Find a red hat. Find a yellow car. Find a cow with white spots" You get the idea.
As much as I hate to suggest it, an age appropriate electronic game -- maybe an IQuest? -- for those times when she can't be entertained. I would limit its use -- all except the IQuest.
A disposable camera just for her.
    A radio with a headset?

These are just a few ideas. I'm trying to think back to when mine were 4! I know my kids loved it when their aunt (my sister) let them write in her purse sized notebook with her pens.

Hope you have a good trip!

Be sure to take some healthy snacks from home too. Airport food is not only pricey it's not usually very good either.

Get an "I Spy" book! They are wonderful and will keep her AND you happy for hours. Also, "Where's Waldo?" is another good one.

Get her a kids' atlas. Believe it or not, even little kids love to know where they are going and where they've been.

Thanks for all the suggestions! She does have a handheld Leapfrog that is pretty educational, she loves it. We'll take that, and she has an atlas that she likes too. Thanks again!!!
