If only...

Do you ever find yourself thinking "if only..."?

I know that I have often thought "if only" I had done something differently or "if only" something had not happened or "if only" I had a bigger house or "if only" ____________(fill in the blank) .

But you know something...I have learned from each experience and "if only" thought to be thankful for what I do have.

Here are some examples:
"if only" I had a bigger and different house years ago when my husband lost his job we would have lost that home. Living in this smaller home with the low mortgage payment, we were able to keep a roof over our heads. And it enabled me to later stay home and homeschool my kids.

"if only" we had not moved back here I would be the department head of the Special Ed department of the district I worked for but I would not have the close relationship with my kids that I have now and would be so busy and burnt out by now

"if only" I had a different childhood I would not be so aware of and be able to help people who have gone through the same rotten things that I went through and help them realize that they are not "trash" and that they can overcome their pasts and live a healthy and happy life.

I have been known to dwell on the "if only" parts of my life at times. But I realize that if i had done anything different in my life that I wouldn't have the wonderful life I have now.

If only dh hadn't gotten sick--- then we wouldn't appreciate the time we have with each other, we wouldn't have purchased our farmette and would still be on the fast track of life.

If only we stayed here & not moved out of state I could of prevented what happened to someone very close to me
