Wink I'm beginning to really hate basketball!

Today Josh comes home from Driver's Ed and shows me a huge "goose egg" on his forehead. He proudly told me that he got it playing a pick up game of basketball after class this morning with a kid who was "really agressive". Of course Josh thinks it's "cool" but this Mom is tired of her babies being hurt in this game... Between this and Chris's broken foot due to playing this game I'm ready to ban them from basketball (yeah like that is going to ever fly here ) or wrap them all up in bubble wrap each time they go out the door to play any sport!

Ahhhhh yes...the joys of raising kids who enjoy playing sports!

Oh Debbie, not another child hurt. I can sure relate to some of this. One winter I was afraid to let my boys out to play sports of any sorts. We had injuries almost everyday; the worst was two broken arms (that's one arm on each boy).

Last weekend my oldest ds went to a men's retreat and came home with no skin on his chin which had also been split opened and probably should have had stitches. Ds seemed very proud of his new face and told me that one on the guys was going to stitch it up for him. This "guy" has no first-aid or medical training. I feel like walking up to him and slapping him for even thinking about it As my 16 year old daughter says, "I think there was just too much testosterone there". I think she's one smart girl

Anyways, I hope Josh is okay and your boys take a break from hurting themselves for their mom's sake

Debbie I can feel your pain. My 2 dd's have had 5 ACL knee surgeries between them b/c of basketball.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~
