    Default We're inheriting a beagle

Do you remember me talking about dh's Aunt Bea and Uncle Tom.  She had a heart attack a while back and stayed breifly in the nursing home.

Well, Tom's been in the hospital.  His lungs are just terrible.  It sounded like it was pretty touch and go for  while there.

All the kids are here.  If Tom makes it out of the hospital, he and Bea will be going to the nursing home.  If he doesn't make it, she'll be going by herself.

It's really sad.  One for their daughters was over here the other day bawling because she felt so guilty and didn't know what else to do.  Bea's just too confused to take care of herself and it's too hard on her to take care of Tom.

Anyway, we told them we'd take Sassy.  She's visiting to see how well she gets along with the munchkins.  So far, so good.

We had beagles when we were kids too and there were 7 of us kids to torment them, LOL. They ususally do quite well with children but they sure are wanderers. Seems they are always on the hunt.

I'm so sorry about your relatives and hope things work out for them healthwise.

Make double darned sure your fence in secure! Beagles can wander for MILES in a matter of hours. They are scent hounds and will literally follow their noses anywhere. They are great little guys!

I hope your relatives will get better.

So sorry to hear about your family, but I'm sure your uncle feels better knowing Sassy is being well taken care of. Beagles are wonderful family dogs, but like mentioned, they will wander off in a hurry so make sure Sassy has on a collar with your name and phone number on it, just in case.
