Default On the discussion of washers....

can I ask for some specific mechanical feedback I have a front loader that I bought about 6 months ago. I put it in the house I'm moving into, so have only used it around 15-20 times. I wanted NEW appliances, no hassels. Yeah, right. NoWay could I use the timer and 'wake up' to washed clothes. I would wake up as soon as the spin cycle started (rock and roll and knock and vibrate) Also, whenever I open the door I have to have a towel ready to mop up the drips (1/8 Cup worth) down the front of the washer from the gasket. I needed a sanity/feedback check before I call to have them come out AGAIN, to make sure I'm not expecting too much. The first time was to connect a spring on the drum and replace the leaking drain hose! Thanks for everyones input.......Cheryl

We have one of the new Maytag Duet front loading washer and I don't have any of the problems that you are having.

Did you get the extra drawer part underneath the washer?

When my washer ate my quilt and I had the repair man here, he said he was so glad I didn't get that piece as they make the washer shake way too much.

I would definetly call and have someone come look at it.

My dh had to put a board under mine because my floor is very unlevel. They will vibrate and make lots of noisy if they are not sitting level. Mine does not drip water when I open the door.

There are some large brackets on the back that hold the drum during shipping. They are supposed to be removed before you use the washer. Maybe they forgot to do that when they delivered it. Look in the papers that came with your machine.

I hope you get things worked out.

    Default Thanks Katie and Debbie

Thanks for the feedback. The washer is level in all directions, but it is mounted on a pedestal. I may have to take it off as an experiment. I think part of my problems started with the fact that they didn't have the shipping brackets and bolts in place when it was delivered. Oh well, I think I'll call repair while it's still under warranty on the next trip up North. Now that I know the "drip" isn't normal.......
