The Little Things (or Ones)
What is it about your family that makes you unique... (like everyone else
)... *giggle*
Really? What is it about the chemistry (or lack thereof?) of your family that makes strangers look at you (smiling, grimacing, laughing or shouting at you!) in public?
I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing... but in public, because I look so young people are simply amazed at how happy I seem. With my bf & his son - ever so well behaved - and him being almost 12 - we turn a lotta heads.
I'm an irish girl (great-grandmother came from ireland) - i've got the red hair, grn eyes, freckles & pale skin (among other traits)... they're - well, dark in nearly every way. They can tan, they have dark hair & eyes... so I stick out first of all.
But it's the dynamic that also makes us stick out. The patience, the kindness, the caring... the fact that I'm not yelling at either of them because they're being males (as i see so many moms & wives doing) nor am I getting yelled at for being female (as I see much of as well).
What's special about your family?

My dads family is from Ireland.

When Dh and I are out and about I always get stared at because of my voice! My accent is soooo different to everyone else around here it catches people's attention.
I know you're all going to think I just try to shoehorn rugby into the conversation wherever possible but... whenever DH and I drive to home games (we live about 50 miles away from where our team is based and have to drive past about 4 other teams that are far better to get there). We have our flags in the car and stuff and opposition fans are just AMAZED to see that we don't actually live in Widnes. (there is a rumour that goes round that once you enter you'll never leave)

I think we look like a lovely family however there is the obvious age difference. I am 42, I have an 11 year old dd which in itself can raise a few eyebrows but the sinker is that Mel is 59.
