    Post Here's my new person questionnaire

    Hi,

    My name is Bev and I found this wonderful site by surfing for info on frugal/simple living/energy savings. I don't think there is any topic you folks haven't covered!

    I'm a widow (my husband died suddenly 5 years ago). Two wonderful sons: 30 and 21. A dopey but adorable old dog named Murphy.

    After 20 yrs. of working in my husband's medical practice, I found myself widowed and unemployed...all at the same time. But at age 60, I'm doing great and learning all about frugality and simplifying my life.

    I work part-time for an attorney because every time I think I'm close to retiring, the Social Security age goes up!

    Can someone tell me what the various "challenges" are on many posts? They look really interesting. I need some challenges...ooh, but the weight loss one is scary...can you still eat chocolate?

    Hi Bev, I'm glad you joined us. I used to have an airedale terrier called Murphy. She died in 1998. It's good to know she still has her namesakew running around over there.

    We have a:

    ~penny jar challenge (keep all your pennies and add them up at the end of the year)
    ~change jar challenge (keep your change in a jar)
    ~debt reduction challenge
    ~frugal challenge (post during the week what you do to be frugal)

    I have probably forgotten a number, but check around. You'll soon find all of them. Welcome to the village and look forward to your taking part in a number of these challenges.
