Is it hard for you to get back on track when you get your routine messed up?
I was thinking about this as I made my bed at lunch time.....
I usually make my bed early, run through the house, straighten things up if I didn't do it the night before, start the laundry, maybe talk on the phone for a few minutes and then have my shower in the mornings. This morning I had to jump up and be out early to take Heidi to the groomer. It messed up my whole routine and I feel as if I've wasted the whole day b/c of it. I just can't seem to get anything done now. I feel all "unorganized".
Does this bother you as well when you get your "usual" routine messed up or am I just getting old and set in my ways????

It definately goes smoother for me if I follow the same routine. Some might say that's rigid, but it works for me. More efficient! (or, at least I actually get a few things done.

Sometimes a change in routine is good -- like having a long weekend from work. But for me adjusting back to the old routine is hard. So, yes, getting back on track can be difficult.

I know how you feel Lisa. I don't do as well when my routine gets messed up and yes I think I am getting old and set in my ways!

I find it harder to make it through the day, but not harder to jump back into the routine. I just do the same things in the same order, even if its at the wrong time.

Since dh has been home, my schedule is all screwed up. I usually have a set amount of things I do on Mon., Wed., and Friday, but it seems as if while he is home, I have not had the motivation to keep the schedule. Hopefully when things go back to normal, and he goes back to work, I will be back on track.

After just coming back from our vacation a few weeks ago, it took almost two weeks to get back to my regular schedule because we were both sick and couldn't do too much. I hated it! Finally, now I am feeling back to normal and can actually get things accomplished!

Always, I have a sister who pops in for an hour at a time and a retired Uncle who comes for coffee at least once a week. Not to mention my dd#2 only has a couple of classes 2 or 3 times a week and gets me off track. Soon dd#1 will be home for the summer and I would like to say I look forward to it but.... Oh well, people must come first. Or in your case pets.

I know what you mean. It is hard for me to get back on track if my routine gets disrupted. In fact haven't had as much of a routine the last 3 years or so since my DH is in and out more with his jobs. When he use to work 8 hours a day I had more of routine and could stick with it. It is nice having him around more too.
