Odd signs of Spring (or warm weather)

Two things happened to me today that have always signalled the beginning of warm weather.

1. The small ice cream shop I drive by on the way to work opened

2. In the envelope industry, if you buy envelopes from Papercone they will send you a set of glasses commemorating the Kentucky Derby. These always come a little bit before the actual event. We got ours today. I had to laugh - when a co-worker got hers, she opened them and the first thing she said was, "Its not April already, is it?"

Just wondering what quirky things signal the beginning on nice weather where you live - and whether or not they've happened yet.

Not to mention I'm just happy that its been about 50 degree out for two days in a row!

I just said to DH last week, "Ahhh, the first signs of spring. The all-night-long hum of the tractor trailers next door."

I live next to a business, and in the spring they start to get deliveries. Some nights, if you go outside, you can hear the faint hum of whatever it is the drivers keep on when they are sleeping in the cabs- maybe a heater of some sort? A lot like to sleep there because it is a big open area they can park with no problems, and it is quiet and not too bright from lights.

So, while others have the return of the geese, we have the return of the hum from the tractor trailers.

~the robins are back here, always a sure sign of warmer weather.

~the icre cream drive-inn opens tomorrow and you can bet our family is going to be there.

The ads for Branson have begun on our local tv stations. A real SURE sign that its spring.

They mowed grass for the first time yesterday on the grounds of our offices.
