    Is it authenic??

    If I REALLY REALLY knew it WAS authenic,I would love to have it.Not sure I would've paid the ending bid though.....But what a piece to own....

    It looks fishy to me. She was not willing to provide any other information or and documentation that it is authentic.

    I thought the same thing. However, that's a decent price for an antique quilt in great shape.

    Yeah, I can't believe she wouldn't even say in writing that her family (by name) believes it to have been made by LIW. It is like she is willing to put it out there on eBay and wants to make more money based on that, but isn't willing to put her real name behind it.

    That said, if I had that quilt (as a family heirloom) I am pretty sure I would NOT sell it on eBay. I would talk to the director of the LIW museum, which I am sure exists somewhere, and find out about loaning it for display and conservation. But I guess I am more about history for everyone rather than money for myself, which that woman obvisouly wasn't.

    (And PS, I think she would have gotten a lot more money if she had been willing to provide a notarized letter and some more info.)
