Unhappy I broke my "family" ring.

I sat down to start crocheting yesterday after coming back from the store and my ring scratched me. I looked at it and realized I had lost one of the stones and one of the gold tabs was broken off.

This is my "family ring". It has 4 stones for each of our birthdays and dh gave it to me for our 20th wedding anniversay. That will be 10 years ago this coming June.

I know it can be fixed but it makes me sad. We don't have any jewelry repair stores here so I have to send it off and anywhere I send it takes 2 weeks.

I feel for you- I lost all my jewelry almost three years ago and have nightmares about it still. (Yes, literally all my jewelry- my wedding ring, my engagement ring, my birthstone ring, and more. My diamond was my MILs and she still doesn't know.) Darlene, have you seen it anywhere???

I sure hope you can get it fixed quickly. I need to have mine repaired...one of the little things that hold the stone in, is all cattywhompas and needs to be either replaced or straightened. Dh suggested i take it in to to jewlery shop that sold it to him...if i could go back in time i would, but my time machine is in the shop. The place closed three years back, lol. I am so timid totake it to a jewler because i fear it getting lost or "not being the same" when i got it back. one day I will break down and get it done.

I'm so sorry your ring broke and you lost a stone.

My mom gave me a beautiful ring. I had it resized and it snapped. Luckily, I didn't lose the stone. I need to have it repaired. It is a pain sending it for repair.

Thanks everyone. I am always afraid I will not get my original stones back when I send rings in for repair also. I've heard so many stories....I just hope it doesn't cost too much to repair.
