    Default Our solication nightmare-long

This is long but I just gotta share this with you all..

For the past several days, there have been people coming around the neighborhood selling meat out of the back of their trucks. We always say no thank you and they leave. Today a young couple came by and the girl walked in the backyard where me, dh, and ds were playing. She said they had some meat for sale...I told her I would see what they had in seafood.....so she goes back to the truck and the guy comes back with a box... they give us this big spill and stuff about free beef...I keep telling them I don't need any beef but am interested in the seafood....he as about 5 small boxes...and wants $350 for it!!! I said no thank you.... but that i appreciate them showing the stuff to us... the guy goes off.... said a bunch of crap about not making money to show the stuff and how he was glad he wasn't getting paid by the hour and all kinds of crap.... we asked them nicely to leave...and he kept on running his mouth.... so we told them to please leave... they finally packed up the meat and headed down the driveway.... the girl was telling him how sorry she was that she didn't make a sale.... and he said to her that it wasn't her fault, it was that b***h chick back there (talking about me)... ooooohhhhh I was mad.... i told them to get off my property....I was so mad I was shaking..... I held my anger in because ds was outside with us.....my dh didn't hear him say the last part or he would have been on him....

I just can't believe that people will come on a strangers land and act this way. Its no wonder they don't make a sale....you can bet that there is a no solication sign on the door now and the next time someone comes here wanting to sell us something they will be kindly asked to leave. You try to be nice to people like that cause they are trying to make a living but that guy today needed a nice a** kicking.....oh, I guess thats the Virginia redneck coming out in me...lol... I feel sorry for the girl, having to put up with that crap.

Anyway, just wanted to share....thanks for letting me vent..

Eww. That's disgusting. How can people even think that they will make a sale with attitudes like that?

We have people that come around here with meat on a truck too. I don't think your "meat guy" has much of a future in sales.

we have one out here, too. About 7 or 8 years ago, I bought some.....now, they come back *every* year & I haven't bought since. You'd think they'd "get it!"

My big problem is always with the Dish guy & those kids selling Kirbys. they're always so rude when you tell them no. Jeesh!

That is terrible, can't they take 'No' for an answer! How very rude!

We had the same kind of people (selling meat), come in the house and show us what "we could get" and when we said no thanks, they went on about how they could no longer sell it since the box was opened etc... And how we should since we "made " them open the box.. I don't even recall inviting them in....My DH just said get out or we would call the police... They just did not get it that we meant no.. I can't stand sales people who are like that.

You are so much nicer than I could ever be. I would have had a hissy fit all over both of them and then would have called the cops on them too. I hate idiots!

Cornelia I would have been livid! I have more of a hot temper than DH and if I heard him make a comment like that about me I would have been chasing him down the driveway! I think you did very well ! The sign is a great idea too!

Did you get the license #? I'd still report them. Health dept (or some license dept) might be interested in this business.

I think you showed great restraint. Would have not done so well myself I don't think. We have some who come here once in a while but when they see the Great Dane and the shepherd trying to get round me they tend to take NO for an answer

Oooo, I hate this! I am polite and send them on their way, but if they get pushy, I get Gypsy (my Am Staff--think bulked up Pit Bull). They get the hint and LEAVE even though Gypsy would probably just lick them to death unless they hurt me.

No wonder they aren't selling anything with attitudes like that.

You are nicer than I would have been too!
