what's up today?
It was perfect weather today. We headed out for a nice drive. Went to Clare which is a city not too far from here. The Amish ride their horses and buggies on the streets with the regular traffic. We saw an Amish family selling handwoven baskets, quilts, and canned goodies. (not uncommon there, but still neat to see)
We went fishing at the lake after lunch. Then just took a nice country drive.
It was just a nice day out and about. It feels so good to have winter over.

We (DD and I) worked in the yard all day.
You are so right- it DOES feel good to have winter over!

Sara, your day sounds perfect to me.
I will take any cold, wet and miserable weather over the sunny weather we always get. I really do NOT like it. Ask your president if we can change weather patterns. Our PM will do anything he tells him to do.

It was absolutely perfect weather today. We did get some small chores done, but mostly just kicked back and relaxed. Also, made supper on the grill...silver turtles. Yumm.

Rhonda, I'd gladly trade!!

I spent the day cleaning up inside the house for a get-together we had here tonight, it was great btw. Hannah and I made a pound cake, a peach cobbler, iced tea and coffee. Others brought finger sandwhiches, chips, ice creams, and so on, it was a wonderful time.
It was great having conversation with other ADULTS!! Woo hooo!
They kids even behaved wonderfully! (did i step into an alternate universe?)~~ Missy ~~

We all went for haircuts then dh went to work. Ds and I went to my friend's house and with her went to a couple of yard sales and the thrift store (I found 6 nice pieces of clothing for $1.75 - yay!). We then had lunch at Burger King and she treated us to the movies (Robots). Ds and I stopped by Sam's and the library on the way home and then after dh got home we went to BJ's (warehouse club) to take advantage of a free 2 month membership and buy a few things.

The kids played on the swingset while I picked up sticks in the front yard. (Julia "helped"
) While we did that, Rob put on his waders and got in the creek to find out why the water wouldn't flow under the bridge and kept backing up and flooding the yard when it rained. Turns out, there was an old plastic tarp stuck under the stone bridge! Boggles the mind that the old owners never tried to figure out the problem! We still want to jackhammer out the bridge, but at least it won't flood now!
I also ran to the music store to get books for my 3 new piano students that start this week!My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

DH had to work and DD had her ACT test so I had a morning all to myself. I did a major kitchen cleaning; mopped, took out and scrubbed the floor vents, wiped window sills, wiped down cabinet fronts, washed all my counters and put away ALL the papers, bills, mags that were laying around. It felt so good to wake up and walk into a shiny kitchen this morning.

I also cleaned and grocery shopped and then took care of ds after he came home with a fever. Dh rested on the couch all day trying to baby his back so he can go back to work on Monday and not hurt so bad.
Actually, I felt pretty good yesterday which is amazing for me with all that I got done.

Dh worked yesterday morning and then when he got home at about 11:30 we started trying to decide how to fish the winter cover and water bags (and stepping stones used for weights on the corners) out of the bottom of the pool. We've had 70 mph winds the past few days and this is the first time in 11 yrs. that we've had to "re-cover" the pool. Ssssoooo that took about 2 hours of pulling and pushing and cussing to get done. Finally it's done. We'll open the pool up in about a month to 6 weeks when the weather warms up.
Afterwards we made a trip into "town" to look at a rental property (possibly for dd#1 to rent from us) that is being put on the market by friends who have divorced. The property has lots of "potential" (i.e. needs lots of work!). I think we're gonna pass on it b/c it's an hour's drive to and from and it would cost a small fortune in gas and elbow grease (
) to fix up to rent. But we had a nice dinner with dd at Olive Garden and drove around looking at cars for free fun afterwards. It was a great afternoon and evening.
