DS is Sick
His fever was 102 yesterday and I finally got it down to 99 by 10:30 last night by him taking tylenol and a cool shower. Fever went back up to 100 by 5:30 am. He is so sick! Has sore throat and swollen glands on his neck. His mouth is all white and he has a sore on the corner of his mouth and he has sores in his mouth and his gums look like they have been shredded.
He is 18 and is only home for a few hours at night to sleep so over the last 3 days I only caught an occasional "my alergies are acting up" and "my wisdom tooth must be coming in." I finally got to look at him yesterday afternoon after all of our doctors offices had closed.
So this morning we can get in to a doctor at 9:00. He doesn't have insurance so the office visit will be $75.00. Hopeing and praying they will have samples of antibiotics for him.
Please keep good thoughts for him and say a prayer if you will. His back hurts him so bad from the wreck and he is in pain 24/7 but otherwise never gets sick like this.

Thank you everyone.
He is feeling better already after taking the first dose of medicine and 2 more tylenol. He also had another shower after coming home from the doctor and that helped ease his back pain some.
He is sleeping now and on the road to recovery.
He didn't have strep but definitely has some bacterial infection along with some viral stuff going on. The doc said that is tongue is in normal condition for all of the junk going on in his mouth and that the reason his mouth is so sore and his gums look like shredded meat is because he has some cold sore and when they burst they leave the skin broken and raw. Poor thing. Doc said to rinse his mouth with warm white vinegar with salt in it. He gave us a sample so we didn't have to buy meds. He gave him "Factive" says it is gemifloxacin. Never heard of it but he says you take 1 a day for 5 days and the medicine keeps on working for 10 days.
Oh and they only charged us $50.00 since he is a returning patient. So today didn't cost as much as we had feared.

He is in my prayers. Kody has the exact same symptoms, I'll be taking him in tomorrow. His friend had strep throat last week so I'm wonderin'!
I hope your son is feeling better in no time.
