    Talking Summer plans?

It's starting to show signs of spring (in most places) and that excites me cause it means summer is right around the corner!

Do you have any big plans for summer??? Vacations, goals, to do lists?

We have some places we want to visit. Late summer we are trying to go to Italy or Spain. I don't think we are gonna be able to make it though. We want to hit a few zoos, a few old churches, just sightseeing spots in this part of Germany we didn't see last time we were here.

I am gonna be working hard with Kevin (just turned 5) on his reading. I am also going to start Karisma on some kind of program.

I am gonna be working out and preparing for a small run in October. I might walk it in June- don't think I will be ready to run by then.

We have a Washington DC trip and a Reno trip planned. Other than that we are just going to be getting ready for Jacob who is due Aug 2nd and our move to Louisiana.

Not too many big plans for the summer -- have a successful garden is probably number 1. The kids have signed up for summer school and are looking forward to that. The district is going to give $100 gift cards to kids with perfect attendance -- Sarah and Adam were probably first in line to sign up. (This is the first time our district has used this attendance policy -- it will be interesting to see how it works!)

So that takes us up to July 4. There are few day trips that I would like to do, but if gas continues to increase in price we will have to be selective about those. And we will need to work in a trip (driving) to Chicago to see my mother sometime.

Mostly we'll just be staying close to home.

We will be staying close to home for a couple of reasons. #1 high gas prices will slow things #2 dd will be starting beauty school on Apr. 26. She has finished up 11th grade except for a little reading she still has to do. If all goes well she will graduate from beauty school in Feb. 2006 and will finish her senior year at the same time. In order to do this she will still have to get some 12th grade classes in over the summer also. Lots of balls in the air I just hope mom can keep up All this to say that we will be staying close to home this summer.

No plans for us for the summer. DH was forced to take all of his holiday time for the year before the end of May He doesn't even get weekends off in the summer! So our plans to go camping this year and our trip to PEI are off. We might get a chance to make some day trips but it's unfair of us to ask my DH to drive on his days off when he drives eight or more hours a day for work.
