......other stores. You know how when you walk into one of these places the air blows on you? My theory is that is contains mind numbing powers that make you forget your list and buy things you don't need. Think we could get Federal funds for a study?

I'm with ya on this one girly. I had a similar theory on Starbucks and possible cocaine additivies.....

DEF going to need EXTENSIVE studies done.

Actual studies of stoers have shown that colors and scents used can atually cause you to buy more.

Another thing that keeps people in the stores, I think, is music. When I'm in a store and good music is playing, I do tend to take my time and browse more (and end up spending more)...

I'm ready to believe this is true. I'm sure there are folks who spend their days studying human behavior and how they can utilize it to increase sales.

Pretty sure they are sending out mind numbing rays in those stores. Ever notice how you can't find a clock in them either to even tell how long you've been there.........

When I worked at Harrah's (in Cherokee, NC), one of the first things we were told was there are no clocks in the main casino area, just in the back of house area that was for employees only. Guess they won't you to loose all track of time and spend more money.

What is funny is I always head to Wlamart at 7:30 in the morning after I drop DD#1 off at school. I get there just in time for them to have their morning associate meeting, so I hear them chanting "gimme a W! W!!! etc.!!!" LOL!

LOL!!! Dh worked for Sams Club 14+ years and they had a Sams chant as well.
