    Default Stolen Purse -- UPDATED!!

Well!! I went to work this am and had to leave take an early lunch so I could go and get a new Drivers License and then off to the bank to find out my options. We opted to open a new acct and put a STOP PAY ON ALL CHECKS. Couldn't close my acct since I get Direct Deposit and no way we could stop my paycheck in time. Cut up my ATM card etc. Contacted the Credit Reporting Agencies to put a FRAUD ALERT on my credit report. (VIP THINGS TO DO!)

So back at work -- I called the store in the afternoon just to see if MAYBE they had found anything. The manager was very concerned and had no idea what had happened. Asked me all the details etc and then had me describe. Lo and behold, I had to give him my name, etc and he had it!

Turns out it was found crammed somewhere and everything was there....checkbook, DL but no cell phone. Oh well -- at least my Identity Theft nightmares can end. And my purse -- my great buy at $9.95. I swear I was most heartbroken about my newish purse! SO its cost me the $30 to replace my phone. TG I had the insurance on it.

    Drama over ladies.

I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. I've had checks of mine stolen in the past and it took quite awhile for all the bad checks to die down and crediters to stop calling. No fun.

Wow, I know somebody who will be watching her purse like a hawk. Glad the drama is over & sorry you had to deal with it at all.

Wonder why all they took was the cell phone? I guess they thought everything else was just junk. Thank goodness!

Wonderful news! I guess all they wanted was $$$$ cash and since there wasn't any they abandoned it? Too bad the cell phone is gone, but thats a much better outcome than what could have been.

Yes, we should all watch our purses a LOT more carefully -- and not carry everything at the same time either -- I'm very guilty of that.
