If you could be objective enough to interview yourself....
I have never been "hung up on" or that interested in "Celebrities", but find everyday people much more interesting, so with that in mind I thought we could all "Interview Ourselves" sort of "Chat show style"
Q. When you were younger, what were your "Life Time Ambitions" and have you achieved any of them?
A:I wanted to travel and Go to America and Canada and Australia and swim with Dolphins and Cuddle a Koala Bear and Kiss kangaroos!!
I have been very blessed and have done all of the above
Q.What Ambitions have you yet to achieve?
A:I would like to Travel Business Class at least once in my life!
I have not yet had the chance to cuddle a baby piglet, but would really like to do that!
I would like to have the concentration to write the book we all have in us.
It would be nice to have my Creativity recognised
Q.(Apart from Children) what do you consider your biggest achievement or triumph?
A:At the age of 19 buying my first ( very tatty) house, very much a fixer upper! Whilst studying at University for a degree in Psychology and working working full time.....I was very, very Frugal and didn't have any luxuries or treats, but it felt really good to be in charge of my own destiny.
Q:What is the worst thing that has ever happend to you?
A:Having a Car Accident, that left me unable to work, so I lost my Nursing Career as well as my Health.
I really missed it and found it hard to adjust to staying home and trying to adapt to my new circumstances...
Q:What is the nicest thing anyone has done for you?
A:When I was due to take my Exams at University I couldn't afford the Exam fees, & unknown to me my Tutor had arranged for me to get a Hardship Grant, which covered the cost, he did this without me knowing, he sent me the required papers through the post to save my blushes
I was very touched.
Q:What little things about modern life annoy you?
A:How long have you got? I am a regular Mrs grumpy these days
Littering, is a biggie for me, it takes so little effort to take home your candy wrappers etc. , yet the impact on the Countryside and environment is HUGE......I really hate the Brain dead people who drop their trash where they stand
Q.What things about other people surprise you?
A:The way that some folks are obsessed with "other peoples money", you know, children who think they have a "right" to Mom & Dads money, relatives who only care about Grandma's money & not the person.
Why do some people think stealing from a Company or big organisation is a "victimless" crime?...stealing is stealing!
I am not at ALL Homophobic, (I would love a Gay Friend!) but can someone explain to me, WHY, if a Lesbian is "attracted to other Women" do a lot ( not all) Lesbians seem to become as masculine as possible? With the Butch Hair cuts and mannish clothes, I just don't get it?...surely Lesbians should be attracted to "Womanliness" rather than seem to "become" the very thing they are NOT attracted to ????????? I never did get that!!
Q.How would you describe where you are in your life right now?
Working on accepting my physical restrictions, trying to come to terms with having my choices ( about working or not) taken away from me.
Q.Describe yourself in 3 words:
A:Contented, stoical, exasperated
Thank You Karen! ~ Your very welcome

(Your turn Guys

Karen I love it! I too find everyday people very, very interesting. I love hearing about other peoples lives and experiences! Great idea!
Q. When you were younger, what were your "Life Time Ambitions" and have you achieved any of them?
A. When I was a lot younger I wanted to be a dancer. Didn't do that and I'm fine with it, but I do however miss dancing as a hobby and would love to take it up again when I lose a little more weight.
When I was in highschool I wanted to become a Fashion Designer. I was accepted to Fashion Design school in New York, but my parents didn't have the money and I was having trouble getting financial aid because my parents made too much. I did get a small scholarship, but not nearly enough to cover the tuition. It took me a long time to get over that because I used to be very selfish, but I am so glad that changes were made in my life. I did still end up going to Art school and I still very much love sewing, so I think I have found a balance.
Q.What Ambitions have you yet to achieve?
A. I would love to have a small organic farm and sell vegetables from our garden. I would also love to have sheep for the wool.
I have about three seperate online business that I have been working on for the past year.
I can't list everything. The list is just too long.
Q.(Apart from Children) what do you consider your biggest achievement or triumph?
A. Staying happily married for over ten years. It's a lot of work some days and other days it is so joyful and rewarding.
Q:What is the worst thing that has ever happend to you?
A. I had a miscarriage over seven years ago. I decided to have it at home. I hate hospitals and decided that was what was best for me. It was. The pregnancy was a surprise to us and we were very excited. We tried to get pregnant again a few months later, but then realized that we wanted to move out West (first attempt)...since moving didn't work out the first time we have been in an apartment, and for me, I would love to have a place of our own first before we have any children...if we have any children. Until then, we enjoy other peoples children and I spoil my Niece completely!
Q:What is the nicest thing anyone has done for you?
A. My parents paid for all four years of my College and bought me a new car to commute with.
Q:What little things about modern life annoy you?
A. That some people expect to have it NOW! With TV, cell phones, businesses being open longer hours, etc. people have a much harder time being patient with things. I find myself doing the same thing from time to time and have to remind myself not to be so demanding of people and be more patient with myself as well!
Q.What things about other people surprise you?
A. The willingness to help if you are in danger. The whole street was practially outside when I was rushed by ambulance to the hospital in Janurary. All my neighbors wanted to see if there was anything they could do to help. I just thought that was so touching!
Q.How would you describe where you are in your life right now?
A. In limbo!
Q.Describe yourself in 3 words:
A. Positive, Reassuring and Ambitious

Okay, this is interesting!
Hope this is how you wanted it Karen,
Q. When you were younger, what were your "Life Time Ambitions" and have you achieved any of them?
A: Oh my, I wanted to be an architect, which I didn’t do because someone told me that I’d have to take lots of math classes.
I wanted to be an environmentalist, which I have done in a small way.
I wanted to be a writer – not done.
I wanted to be Joan Baez – definitely not done!
I wanted to buy an old farm with a 2 story white farmhouse, which I most definitely have done.
Q. What Ambitions have you yet to achieve?
A: Of the above un-done ambitions, the one that is the most possible is being a writer. An ambition from more recent years is to finish my family genealogy and write a history of the family.
Q. (Apart from Children) what do you consider your biggest achievement or triumph?
A: Gathering far-flung cousins and some previously unknown cousins together to meet at a family website for purposes of reacquainting ourselves, sharing family stories and photos, and learning something new about the family.
Q: What is the worst thing that has ever happened to you?
A: The death of my father when I was 3 months pregnant. He knew I was pregnant with twins, but didn’t know they would be a girl and boy. I found out during the funeral week. I am very sad he never got to know my kids, and that they have missed having him in their lives.
Q: What is the nicest thing anyone has done for you?
A: My parents’ loving attention. To expand on this, after my dad died and while I was home from work waiting for my twins to be born, my mother traveled via bus each week to be with me and help me out. My whole family was eager for the pregnancy to go well.
Q: What little things about modern life annoy you?
A: Too many things!
Having to rush about.
Unthinking people.
The overuse of cell phones.
And like you, Karen, littering and people who abuse the environment (which takes in a BIG BUNCH).
People who abuse children and animals.
And lots more…..
Q. What things about other people surprise you?
A: Generosity to others who have had a tragedy.
Those folks who are users of other people to get ahead – do they have no conscience?
People who lie more easily than tell the truth.
And some things I’d better not discuss here.
Q. How would you describe where you are in your life right now?
A: Still learning to deal with life without my dad – 12 ½ years later.
Still finding my position in my family of origin.
Accepting that I’ve lived half of my life, at least, and that I need to get healthy to be able to enjoy the rest of my life.
Q. Describe yourself in 3 words:
A: Procrastinator, Nurturer, Nostalgic~~Jean~~
No lie can live forever -- Martin Luther King Jr
What the people want is very simple - they want an America as good as its promise. -- Barbara Jordan
