Alright that's it I NEED a hobby!
I need a hobby SO badly! I will be starting my garden this week but man idle hands do the devils work that's for sure! I have been eating more than I should and sitting here on the computer more than I should and just plain not getting constructive things done! I NEED a hobby so I can at elast FEEL like I am getting something done....you know have something to show for all my idle time!
What's your hobby? Share with me yours in hopes I can find the perfect one for me!
I need a b=hobby that is easy, can be done with three little children and a dog running around me.....in between loads of laundry, meal preparing and running errands.....Hmm....anyone have one for me?

My hobby and passion is quilting. Not all that easy to do with children around. I have to make time for it each day, its a part of who I am.
I've also taken up crocheting because there are times I just can't quilt. I'm just learning and I have to admit it was difficult to learn for me. If you look in the needlework forum, you'll see our very own SewCrafty has done some wonderful tutorials to get you started in crocheting and she along with a number of other members are incredible when it comes to asking for help.
Summer, my hobby is pretty much gardening especially during the day. I spend many hours working both on my veggie garden and flowerbeds.
Hope you can find a hobby you enjoy doing. If at all possible, try to do a little bit each day. It just makes you feel so good to be doing something fun that you really enjoy doing.

I'm not sure how old your kids ae, but what my Mom and I used to do for our hobby when I was little was work on jigsaw puzzles. The 1000 piece ones. She would find all the boarder pieces and let me put that together and we would work on the rest toghether. Even though it was tough for me I loved trying to figure it out. I still love jigsaw puzzles and plan on doing a few this Summer!

I crochet, knit, do plastic canvas, beadwork, quilting, sewing, penpalling, etc. As long as you put your stuff up where they can't get into it, it's not bad.

Crocheting is an easy one to learn and something you can do a row on at a time and put it down.

If you need help, just holler!

No tatting here either - I can't believe anyone could do that and yet mom in her younger days did it beautifully. I'll stick with crocheting (I think), at least until I come to a really hard pattern.

My mother in law and her mother do tatting and it is the most beautiful thing that I have seen.....MIL has made her own battenburg lace for her daughters quilt edging.... BEAUTIFUL!!!
I on the other hand have no hobbies... I do own a brand new sewing machine, and do intend to use it one of these days, but not sure when.

Isn't it something, here I can barely sew a straight line but I can do something else. Everybody is gifted in something, some need more help than others bringing it out. Me, I still have to find mine.Originally posted by homesteadmamma

I can do a little of this & that but haven't found my passion.

Start with straight pieced clothing items like granny squares or just plain pieces crocheted then stitched together.Originally posted by mommy2many

Crocheting is great! Once you get the pattern started you can kind of go on autopilot! Another thing I love to do is color LOL! I get my OWN coloring book and crayons, but I color with my kids. It is relaxing.
