Question Do you find yourself making songs out of everything?

I find myself singing showtunes/songs in my head during most conversations. When someone says good morning to me I almost always begin the goodmorning song from singing in the rain in my head. If my boss sends me a negative e-mail "bad moon rising" begins. If someone overweight walks by I hear sir mix a lot saying "red beans and rice didn't miss her". I was just wondering if anyone else does that?

I make up songs some (or poetry), but not about everything or about people really...but somewhat like it. I used to parady songs for my kids....

Instead of my girl wants to party all the time (Eddy Murphy), it was my boy wants to potty all the time, potty all the time, potty all the tiiime.

Where the boys are was where the kids are, someone waits for me, a smiling face, a warm embrace, two arms to hold me stickily....

    Stuff like that.

I am usually humming or singing something all the time. I can't drive past a corn field without bursting into "the corn is as high as an elephant's eye" or some other song from Oklahoma. My dd is always asking me to sing a song with her. We make songs up to make the other person laugh. Sometimes we can drive my dh pretty crazy

Good Morning makes me think of the viagra commercial with the song "Good Morning Good Morning". lol

I do think about lyrics in situations sometimes though. Just funny oddities in life.

I've never seen a viagra commercial! lol

Anyway, yes, I sing songs to my pets all the time, I just make things up as I go along. I also sing a song to Scott whenever we drive to see our friends in York "On Ilkley Moor Ba T'at" (sp), we drive through Ilkley you see.

(Apologies to Karen if I've spelt the Yorkshire wrong)

my 16 y/o ds and I do that with movie lines a lot. Our favorites are from football movies when he is in football to pump him back up after a bad practice. Or when he went to driver's ed, I was always teasing him with "Look at me, I'm driving now, I'm driving" from The Color Purple. My dh and dd think we are really goofy. Or we will start coversing in fake opera, which really gets awful. No one can stand to be around us then.

Julia (dd) and I make up songs all the time. Tonight while I was getting dinner ready, she and I were marching around the island in the kitchen singing "Patrick, Patrice, Patricio...You are not allowed to throw your sandwich on the floooooor-o!" This house constantly has someone making up a song about something. For bedtime last night, Julia was singing "My Mommy's name is Mommy...but Daddy calls her Amy...I don't know if he knows her name is Mommy...maybe I'll teach him her real name tomorrow..." etc. Sometimes the songs rhyme, sometimes they don't.

When I'm by myself, I sing songs from the radio. All the time.

I make up songs to the girls all the time. Usually some silly kids song with their names substituted. Although I make up originals too. LOL!
