I have really been trying to buy Organic foods and items recently.
Does anyone else try to do this??
I know they are usually more$$, but I feel the quality is much healthier and better.
I do use a food co-op for most of my purchases. I need to plan better for the month. The co-op only orders on the 1st Tues of the month and it delivers the 2nd Tues.
I read the menu thread and saved it, I am putting that to use next month!!!
I have found in the short time I have been trying to do this I do not buy as much packaged/processed stuff which saves $$$$
We are trying to start to do more. But I have a ton of frozen stuff to get through first. And we do a lot of farmer's stands and we'll ask about organic. You would be surprised at the number of littlier farmers who offer some organic.

I would like to, but I can't afford it. I check the sales at the health food stores when I go to the city, and I get whatever is on sale, which is generally fruit.

I buy organic as often as "financially convenient". I buy most of my meat from a drug-free Mennonite-run butcher shop nearby. Here in Ontario, one of the major grocery chains (Zehr's) has an extensive organic line, and I keep an eye on their ads for bargains. The prices can be reasonable. I hope the prices continue to become more reasonable as demand increases and more food producers start paying attention.
